Request: Help pick restaurants for 1/4/10 - 1/11/10

Background - We are a young (23 year old) couple. We have spent 5 weeks together at Disney in the past 5 years. We've tried many restaurants, but only a few by ourselves (all trips, except 1 when we were 18 and students in Florida, were with my family). We will be celebrating our engagement (complete with proposal on night 2 at California Grill).

I am new to this forum, and pick up abbreviations very slowly...I've been looking for a thread that defines them, but have not found it.

We have opted for the Deluxe Dining Plan. We have 8 day park hoppers. We are staying at the Yacht Club.

I'd like some recommendations on what restaurants you would recommend for us in each of the parks, and any spectacular ones that are at hotels. I especially want to try some specialty places, since we will likely not use all of our points, and would like to double up on nice meals (like Cali grill).

Places we intend to go: Artists Point, Upstairs in France (is this Specialty)?

Any bars, especially wine specialty, would be great too.

If you like steak, I would try the Yachtsman Steakhouse.

We love O'hana, Teppan Edo, Whispering Canyon, Le Cellier.

Just throwing these out there because they are our favs....Cape May dinner and Akershus dinner...we are going to Cali Grill this year for the first time...cannot wait! We too have opted for the Deluxe Dining Plan this year!

In Epcot, I would recommend Le Cellier. As a back-up, we like Rose & Crown. It's charming and a great place to view Illuminations.

In MK, I would hop over to a MK-area resort (Poly, Contemporary, Grand Floridian or Wilderness Lodge). Ohana in the Poly is very popular. We tried California Grill in the Contemporary on our first trip and were very impressed. We also like Artist Point in the Wilderness Lodge for Pacific NW cuisine (and wine!). Whispering Canyon Cafe, also in the WL, is more casual and very popular.

In DHS, Hollywood Brown Derby is very good.

Other restaurants we love: Flying Fish (our #1 fave - on the Boardwalk - just a short stroll for you from the Yacht Club), Boma in the Animal Kingdom Lodge (for breakfast AND dinner), and Cape May Cafe in the Beach Club for the character breakfast buffet.

Regarding wine: Our best wine experiences have been at Jiko, Artist Point and California Grill. Jiko specializes in African wine, which is nice to try with the African influenced food there. It's a beautiful dining room, too. As I said above, Artist Point has a Pacific NW wine list to go with the Pacific NW cuisine. California Grill has an enormous wine list and a very knowledgeable staff. We were introduced to a very special dessert wine to go with the cheese course. We're not big dessert wine drinkers, so we were impressed with how well it paired with the cheese.
