request for HHI

We are staying @ HHI for the first time in April (1bdr). Any suggestions for where to request? We were thinking near the pool since this is where we will probally be most of the time. Thanks for any thoughts.....

There are only 21 1-BRs. Sixteen are in Buildings 11/12 (Live Oak Lodge). The other 5 are under GVs in Buildings #16, 18, 19, 28, and 30. Some of those buildings may be closer to the pool, but I've heard that the villas located under the GVs can have noise issues. The resort is very small and is takes only a few minutes to walk from one end to the other. I prefer to be in the Lodge. I hope this helps.

OP....I know this is off topic, but are you HHI owners? Are you going April Vacation week? We are thinking about going April 2011 and we would have to book at the 7 month window, and just wondering how hard would that be. See, even with 2 trips booked, have to be thinking ahead...

Thank you, this a big help the noise would not be good for a 15 month old sleeping.

We've been to HHI 8 times, all in one bedrooms. Most were in the Main Lodge, which is my favorite place to be (close to those cranberry-nut cookies!), and nothing there is too far from the pool. Probably the closest to the pool is Building 18, but the PP was right-you do get noise from the GV above. What type of view do you hope for? The view from building 28 was probably my least favorite. This one, 1138, was my favorite-

We've been in the Lodge for the last three summers. The first time we were there, I wasn't thrilled with the idea of the Lodge....but warmed up to it right away. It's close to the entrance, so very easy to walk to restaurants on other side of bridge. It's also close to the shuttle to the Beach House. Also, I liked the fact that we could park undercover (in the summer sun) and our car and its contents remained a bit cooler. Also, we had a toddler the first few times (she is now a preschooler) and the elevator was helpful for the stroller. It is also just helpful overall for bringing luggage in and out. It wasn't a bad walk to the pool and back....just a few short minutes.
