Yes, they mention a name and say they are looking for him.
I am very cautious about this stuff. We have a rather unusual last name, and there is one other guy in the US (that we know of) that has the very same first and last name as dh.
I hope folks let the police handle it. Call in tips, but stay out.

Yes, in the original live feed video link I posted you see a split second or so of his legs and torso, but not his face or head. The feed then immediately cuts to the studio at the station, where the anchor has an understandably disturbed look on her face. The images of the face and head of the shooter that have been showing up in social media -- which were captured by the camera lying on its side on the ground after the shots ended -- must have been released afterwards by the station and/or authorities.

Just awful. I still have MANY MANY friends in the news industry from my days as a cameraman/photog. There was an incident at our station where an employee was fired and the rest of us were very concerned he'd do something like this. He was a bit unhinged....but to see it actually happen. I'm stunned and so sad.

This is so tragic and senseless! WDBJ 7 is my news station. I am sending prayers for Alison and Adam's families, friends and coworkers. I also pray they catch this killer before he hurts anyone else!

Just got a call that our schools are on lockdown. We are about 2 hours from Bedford, but as a precaution they're locking down, as it seems he's heading north.

OMG! I looked at the shooters Twitter account right before his account was taken down. He filmed the shooting himself and posted it to Twitter. He walked up very close to the interview, looked to be about 2-3 feet away. He filmed himself raising a gun almost in their face. He also posted a tweet complaining about the reporter using a racial slur.

The account was pulled while I was watching the video.
