Hello to all! We went to Magic Kingdom, MGM and Epcot during the long weekend of February 17-20, 2006. We ended up staying at the Swan for the first time ever because all other hotels were full. We were worried about reports of mildew. Upon arrival we told them of our concern and they assured us that we would get one of their "newly refurbished" rooms. We got a 12th floor room and there was no mistake that there was a faint mildew smell in the room and there was a huge amount of condensation on the inside of the windows. At this point out came our can of Lysol. We sprayed it on all the key areas and left for dinner. When we got back the smell had mostly dissipated. Our biggest real complaint was that the rooms are extremely narrow . We had to move out a table and chair in order to get a roll-away in for our fifth person . The other problem is no ventilation fan in the bathroom so it becomes a hot steam room instead. Good thing was the club level we were on . It provided a quick light breakfast in the morning and a light snack and drink in the late afternoon. This avoided expensive room service or restaurant when the kids just wanted a snack. Another truly great feature is the water shuttle boats to MGM and Epcot . They were convenient and quick. Would we stay at the Swan again? Answer: NO! We'll plan further ahead for a hotel with a larger more comfortable room and no mildew.
