On our trip to DL I rented an offsite ECV from Alan's Wheelchairs & rentals. (800)693-4344. http://awmp.getwebnet.com/
They delivered the ECV to my Hotel & picked it up. I had the ECV for 6 days & it only cost me $112. They even made right a couple of problems I had with the first ECV they delivered!!
I stayed at the Desert Palm on Katella[wouldn't again[under construction],I will stick to Harbor hotels] they had No shuttles. But the South Entrance to DL was half a block away. So, while Dh and DD drove to the Timon handicapped parking area I rode the ECV to the South Entrance thru the walk ways to the DL ramp to load the ECV on to the trams[small shuttles were in for repairs] I was usaully there before Dh and Dd!!
I used wheelchairs in WDW in 2001,after using an ECV I wouldn't go back to a wheelchair again. I had more freedom,and no one was wore out from pushing me around. I can walk a short 1/2 block but after that it is total Pain and in very short order I tire and get cranky.
So, that is my very good experance with renting an offsite ECV for my DL trip.
We really enjoyed our DL vacation!!
