Report of the "Wild DIS Women's Weekend"

We never have stayed in the 2000 loop. The sites look pretty big. How would you describe the loop?

The loop can be really peaceful or really rowdy. Over the weekend there were several Scout groups there and there was also a large family tent camping next door on Saturday night. However, on Sunday, the place emmmptied out and we practically had it to ourselves. If you are tent camping or in a popup or small trailer and need lots of spreadout room and plenty of places to get stakes in the ground, the 2000 Loop is perfect. Also with the two comfort stations and the path from both directions for the center comfort station, there are probably about 15-20 sites that are "close to a comfort station" whereas in some of the other loops, that is harder to come by.

Here is a thread with a pictorial on the partial hookup loops:

Carol-

I'm sorry I missed you this trip! I would have enjoyed seeing you again, but that danged "work thing" got in the way. I had planned on trying to see you Sunday, but THD called me and asked me to come in to cover a "call-out". Unfortunately, making money trumps having fun at this particular time in my life. :sad2:

You had some spectacular weather, didn't ya??:thumbsup2

Yeah, Deb, I think I had read that you had to work all weekend. Sorry about that!! Yes, the weather was GLORIOUS!!!

Sorry we missed you- we were amongst the golf cart stalkers cruisin by your site :lmao:

Sounds like y'all had a blast though! Love the pics!

Carol, love the photo of the Lady and the Tramp topiary...where is that located?

Great pics, Carol! I'm glad you and your friend had fun. I wish I could have gone, but no $ = no Disney.... Maybe next time.

Looks/sounds like a FUN time!! Love the character pics :goodvibes

To continue on....

On Saturday, we got up a little later.

Susan caught me piddling in the kitchen in my PJs:

We then went to Animal Kingdom for awhile:

This was as close to Everest as I was going to get Susan

I got my first really really good picture on the Safari:

We came out of Bugs Life and got stuck by the parade:

We then came back to the campground and did a little looping and Jr. Deputy spying:

Here are a few 900 pictures:

After freshening up, we took the boat to the Contemporary for dinner at Chef Mickey's

Then to the balcony of the Contemporary to get a few shots of MK:

Then back to the campground, watched the Water Pageant and Wishes from the beach, then had our nightly drinks and off to bed!!

Sunday is up bright and early to ride Toy Story Mania!!

Nice pic of the giraffe!

And good job on the junior deputy spying!!

I'm getting Fort Sick, need to get back there soon

Thank you for the photos

Well, Sunday morning rang bright and early and we were off to the Studios for Toy Story Mania. As some of you know, getting to ride this without a wait is not for wimps. You must get to the Studios first thing and get in line right away, or get a FastPass within the first hour of opening, as the FPs are generally gone that soon!!

(Oooooh, how I wish for another Dreams Unlimited private party like we had last December at Mousefest. 15 rides on Toy Story mania in 3 hours with no wait!!!!! It would have been more, but my arm was pooped, had to take a break and enjoy some of the yummy deserts served!!!)

DisneySusan424.jpg

We then experienced a few other attractions around the Studios and left fairly early (Great Movie Ride, Muppets), but mostly took some great pictures.

We also tried to grab a quick bite to eat at Catalina Eddies and Rosie's. Big MISTAKE.

Susan got in line for Catalina Eddies to get us a sandwhich and drinks and I got in line at Rosies just for some fries.

I understand how the quick service eateries work, but when you have new crew where English is about their third language, then you have problems. Let's just say it took about 20 minutes for them to hand me an order of fries. We missed Beauty and the Beast as a result :sad2:

After that debaucle, we called it quits and headed back to the campground as we had a 2:30 reservation for horseback riding!!

I didn't take any pictures on the trail cause there was really nothing to see, plus I was holding the reins with my right hand and you really need your right hand to operate the camera.

HOWEVER, TCD, If you want to be really stealthy and get some shots of the golf cart parking and the supposed place where the "merchandising trailers" are/were take a walk along the path that the horses use. You can see the backside of this area from the trail!! (And since you'll be on foot, and without Disney CMs right with you, you might be able to get closer)

After the horseback ride, we went back to the campsite and lounged around. Some folks came by and we gave them a tour of the trailer, (nobody from DISBoards), then we were discussing with them how easy it is to let time slip by, so we got our selves in gear and changed clothes and went to the pool!!

Before getting in, I wandered around and snapped a few shots, most of which were posted in the pool thread:

After going down the slide, floating in the pool a bit, then lounging in the hot tub some, decided to go back to the campground and have a drink before dinner as dinner was at the Magic Kingdom, so no drinks there!!!

More to come for Sunday as I'm at the max on pictures for this post

Duly noted.

And thanks for the tip.

I will most definitely check that out on my next mission.

Why will I have to be on foot?

I know some fellow Dissers who say that the horse trails are perfect for golf carting. ;)

I know nothing, I know nothing!!! (Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil!!!)

OK, continuing on for Sunday

As ya'll saw in another thread, when leaving for the pool, we forgot and left the kitchen open and came back to this:

DisneySusan455-1.jpg

We laughed, took a picture, threw away the donuts, fixed our drinks and got dressed for dinner.

We also came back to an emmmmmpty Loop 2000. I have NEVER seen it this empty except when closed.

We also snapped a shot of the lawnmower tree and a few pictures around the dock:

We took the boat over to Magic Kingdom for dinner at Tony's.

We got a wonderful table on the porch at an appropriate time to watch Spectromagic from our table :3dglasses

DisneySusan214.jpg

We then found a spot for the fireworks:

DisneySusan218.jpg

DisneySusan220.jpg

Then we did some of the Tomorrowland attractions, Buzz, Laugh Floor, and Carousel of Progress. I actually wanted to do more, because Magic Kingdom from midnite to 3am is always a beautiful thing as far as no crowds, but we just couldn't hang, so went back to the campground, had another bedtime drink and went to bed!!

Carol, how was your dinner at Tony's? We have only eaten there once, and it was close to closing and was pretty miserable. I hope your experience was much better.

:santa:

Great report Carol! I will say it again...I love your setup.:thumbsup2

I too was wondering about Tonys.....we have not eaten there yet, but it is on our list for our trip in October. Andy recomendations or tips would be helpful....
