Report of 4th FP from app!?

I just double checked my MDE. All our FP + Reservations from July are still showing in "past items". All of them were used. We are not AP holders.

You're right. I just looked in MDE and saw my old FPs. I guess I just never look under that tab.

Having the extra ticket entitlements makes sense. I'm confused on the AP though. Hmm, wouldn't all APs be able to do that then?
They should be able to as long as they haven't maxed out their 7 days of FPs which they wouldn't because they are changing out that day via a new entitlement.

What Eddie could test is this:
Book 7 days of FPs using his AP allotment.
Enter a park and use his 3 pre-booked FPs.
In MDE, immediately pre-book his 7th day allotment for a day in the future.
Then, go to the current day in MDE to check if the FP system allows him to book three. It shouldn't because he has his future allotment of 7 total days of FPs maxed out on his AP.

It would be the only way to prove it isn't a glitch and that it is how the FP system functions when there is a never-ending supply of ticket entitlements.

That would be a good test.

I guess I just feel like this would have already been discovered if this was the case with all APs and not just a glitch.

I think it may be because not too many go into the MDE app to check if they can book a set of new FPs especially when Disney says you "must" use a kiosk to book a 4th FP. The goal of most guests is to see if they can pull a 4th FP by following Disney's directives.

I have a friend down there right now and she tried this today, but it did not work. She could not book more fastpasses with the app after using her first 3. If it is of any interest she has an iphone. I can't guarantee she did it the way it was suggested here for sure though. I will check with her again tomorrow.

Hopefully someone with regular tickets can try this out. I can say for certainty the system doesn't know one entitlement from the next. It sees entitlement and goes ok, onto whats next. I have old acquaintances that work for Disney at the Internet help desk( the people for MDE) though i do not talk to them anymore so I cant ask about this new stuff going on.

Im going to "watch" this thread and hope someone thats not an AP can try this while at the park :)

I thought some people who have posted here did not gave AP's? Been trying to follow along but getting confused, lol, with all the talk of APs or not APs, etc. I'm anxious to try this out when we go for the 24 hr day weekend! I have a ten day ticket that I'll be converting to an AP.

Where in my MDE will I find this, what tab did you find old fps in? Do I need to look on the phone only or computer? I tried looking in my MDE in my phone but I have FPs made for our trip and didn't know where to look, was afraid of messing up stuff. (We did have AP's our last trip in Dec.). TIA!

I went to my reservations and then went all the way to the bottom of the screen. It will say view past items.

When I do that it shows all old hotel and dining but says "You don't have any FP experiences" even though I've been in the parks probably 2-3 times a week regularly (have an AP and local).

If I can without messing our plans up I'll try this tomorrow. We have AP's but I have my Inlaws here visiting with just a regular 2 day ticket.

Sorry everyone if this is just an AP deal. I never really gave that too much thought as that is the only ticket I have ever had at Disney. I feel bad now that I got some hopes up and it may hinge on having an AP. Hopefully I will not get tarred & feathered at a DIS meet anytime soon :)

I never knew this feature even existed- On my computer, there is a tab is at the top left- click on view and a drop down menu has the option of viewing past items. Mine are all there from our previous trips.

No problem, but if you could try the test above where you finish your 3rd FP and then book your 7th day of FP, then attempt to get 3 more for your current day we can rule out AP as the reason.

I don't have any current FP+ experiences because we're not in our 60 day window yet. I had to look under my past items. It shows all my ADRs and FPs from our last trip.

Mine are all from our last trip too. I don't remember them showing under my current reservations once I used them, but our trip was a long time ago.

We do have our FP+'s selected for our June trip, and that's all that's listed there. This is a very interesting development- I can see why the AP would work this way. We'll certainly test it out in June. Honestly, getting subsequent fp+'s at kiosks is not a huge issue for us. We rarely go for a 4th or more except in the MK. But it's nonetheless interesting to see if it would actually work for us.

We do have 2 people in our group that don't have AP's, so we can test it both ways. I would imaging by June this will have been long figured out though.

I believe Disney knows and that is why the 4th FP of the day is "kiosk only." If everyone went into MDE (app or via their browser), every guest with an AP or an extra ticket (without linked FPs for any day) would be able to access a new set of 3 FPs just as Eddie does on a regular basis.

Another reason why this probably isn't reported much on the boards is that APs wouldn't want this to be known although Disney has to know. That's why there was a test to pre-book 4 FPs per ticket entitlement during that short testing window. There hasn't been a 4th FP by MDE app test because guests would discover how the FP system actually works rather than how Disney wants you to "believe" it works.

Coluk, if a guest has an extra ticket(s) in their MDE that isn't being used for FPs for their trip, it's more advantageous to reassign the tickets to phantom guests in their MDE. In that way, FPs can be pre-booked and the FPs accessed at the FP line by using a ticket or a MB linked to the phantom. It doesn't use a ticket entitlement because the FP lines don't care how you entered the park.

An extra ticket for any guest, even an AP, that is assigned to a phantom acts as a perpetual FP generator and you could enter the park with much more than 3 pre-booked FPs depending on how many extra tickets you have linked to phantom guests.

In all my years on the Dis, I've never known a "secret" to be kept. People are usually just the opposite- if they know a trick or have made some discovery, they tell. lol

I think it's what usually ends up forcing Disney to make fixes. People find out, they exploit it and take it to levels not yet known and then Disney has to fix. The throwaway is a perfect example. It started out- book 1 night, pay for it. Get the perks. Then it went to book 1 night, cancel it and get the perks. Now there's talk of booking 10 nights, cancelling them all and getting the perks.

And now we see Disney stepping and started to make changes with their reservation requirements.

Not making a judgement on this particular "glitch" or "unintended consequence", just making note of how things usually work.

I assume you mean this one above, correct? I will book seven days of FP's starting Sunday through Saturday. We are going to the parks this Sunday and I will use those and try to book three more that same day to see if I can get the extra FP's for that day as well and report the findings.
