I just got back from Walt Disney World and I had a great time. I visited VMK Central for one last time before it closes on September 30, 2007. I turned in all of the possible quests and recieved all of my prizes. They have not yet run out (Yay!). I asked the staff there if VMK Central was being moved to another land like Tomorrowland. The answer was a quick NO. VMK Central will leave from the parks completely. This was very surprising because on my last visit, I was told that VMK Central was moving to Tomorrowland and will be inproved. This is some sad news for VMK. VMK Central, you will be missed.

Well the newsletter was pretty clear this time that is was gone, and you don't have to look past DLR to realize its going to happen.

Glad you got one last look darth!

My question is, will they keep the computers and move them to tomorrowland arcade?

Well i'm going up this Sunday-Tuesday, so I will find out :)

that would be nice if they kept the computers, so others could find out about VMK :]

Didn't realize there was still a newsletter  but i Vaguely recall the official word was it would close and definately not relocate. That informatiopn was consistant with what the CM told me in August. I did inquire about the tomorrowland rumor and i was told they thought they were hoping to but it did not work out and it was only supposed to be there for the 50th celebration.

I asked if I could have one of the gold VMK logos from on top of one of the computers, since they wouldn't be needing them anymore shortly (and one of the computers was broken anyway and I doubt they're going to bother to fix it), but I got shot down :confused3 It's going to be such a shame to see that place go.

I often go to property control (for those of you who don't know what that is, it is a place Disney sends all broken, bent, and no longer used items). I often get pirate pins there with bent boxes and those where one of the pins is missing or something lke that and I will keep an eye out for vmk logo signs or anything from that area. They often surplus things they no longer use. I have several items and signs from places in the parks.

My family and I have visited VMK at Disney World a lot in the last several months. Yes, they were planning on moving VMK Central to Tomorrowland (the arcade at Space Mountain), but then it was decided that VMK was going to close altogether. The computers at VMK Central are being shipped back to Disneyland to do whatever with them there. My husband actually asked if we could have the cards in the cases lol, but the Cast Member said that the cards were all going to be destroyed. I know the codes on the back have been used, but I don't have all the cards and it would be a great reminder of VMK Central. I alos think it's a shame that VMK is closing and closed at DLR. Yes, it was supposed to be for the 50th Birthay, but guests really enjoyed doing the quests and getting the cards (especially the kids). I think it's because Disney doesn't like giving out free and the fact that people are making money off the free items. They did the same thing with Millionaire.
