Hi all! The travelers included myself (JUST 40!), my husband (not yet 40!), b/g twins who turned 11 the day we left, and daughter 9.

Okay, I'll try to make this brief, but I have a feeling it won't be. Left NJ Wednesday evening the 9th, and drove straight to Port Canaveral. Got there by 11 am Thursday, and spent almost two days at the Ron Jon Cape Caribe. There's nothing bad I can say about this resort, honestly - I recommend it. The pools were great, our room was huge and clean, and we walked to the beach and took great pics of the Wonder leaving port on Thursday night - I cried a little, actually. Friday was awesome, because we drove to Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge. My daughter, a serious vegetarian for two years now and an "Adopt a Manatee" parent, got to see a manatee in the wild. We just drove up, got out of the car, and it was there! Fantastic! If you get a chance, do the wildlife drive. We saw alligators and all types of raptors. It was truly a highlight for us.
Anyway, back to cruise. Day one I'd tell all new cruisers that you'll feel a bit overwhelmed - I know we did! It's just so emotional and I built it up for two years, so we were exhausted the first night. Room 8526 was great for the five of us.
TIPS: Never brought an over the door thingy, and really, I couldn't imagine more stuff in that bathroom, yet there was a place for all of it. You really don't need one, in my opinion. Three girls had tons of stuff, (me included), and there's tons of room. Our bags, however, did not fit under the bed. Blowdryer was fine, never used mine at all and I have thick, long hair. Never brought extension cords, duct tape, etc., and didn't have any use for it.

Oh, and our servers were SO NICE! Denezal from Jamaica and Ronette from South Africa were so good to us - Disney really knows how to pair up similar families - we sat with a family with b/g twins who were 10 and a brother 8, and the parents were equally nice. We became friends and spent the day together in St. Maarten. Boy, was I nervous though! I kept thinking, what if they're weird? After the first meal, at dessert time, the woman leaned over to me and said, "You know, I was really worried they'd pair us up with some weirdos!" We loved them and hope to keep in touch. I'm really glad we didn't chicken out and ask for a table for five ...
Day Two and Three - at Sea: Very rough - just how we like it! I know, we're strange, but honestly, who goes on a cruise ship to sit still? Shoot me if you must, but I was lovin the whole thing. I felt bad that others couldn't leave their room, and I know seasickness is horrible, but it rocked me to sleep. Now I've got insomnia again at home because my bed just sits there! Anyway, Sunday morning we did the Rasul, and it was really well, exotic is all I can say! We're not typically spa people, but we loved it. The whole trip felt like a honeymoon anyway because of the kids clubs (more on that later), but this started us off on the right foot, not to mention other body parts ...

Maybe you could add all the posts into one thread to make it easier for people to read ( a lot less confusing) especially if some parts get moved down or to another page....just an idea :sunny:
