replacing laptop screen

I have a del latititude laptop with a cracked screen. I was able to ignore it but it's gotten a bit worst. Is there any place I could pick one of these up used. The laptop works fine. Is it that hard to change? I've changed the fan in it.

Changing the fan and the screen are very different animals.

You're probably better off getting a used laptop with a good screen and fan, and swapping out your hard drive and RAM into the other unit.

You can get a new one + someone to install it for about $400-$500 at your local computer store. That should include time + parts.

It's not worth 4-500 bucks I don't think. But there are used screens on ebay for under a hundred. It's worth that. In order to get to the fan we had to remove the screen. Would it really be that much more difficult to change it?

You will have to find the instructions to your model. Buy the one off ebay and take it up to a store for a little service fee(maybe $100). You could try it or you might just end up having to buy another screen.

Now if I can find a shop to put the used screen it that would be worth it. Get a good screen for under 200. I'd do that.
