Anybody know what's going to be in the area that 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea used to be? I know it was still blocked off in April ... don't know if it's been finished yet ... or what will be there.

Essentially they are only filling in the lagoon and preparing it for future development. The area will simply be home to landscaping and a pooh themed play area for now.

Still not finished in late July. the area was still blocked off but we could people working, looked like they were creating leaves for an artificial tree. It was fun watching the artists work.

Haven't heard, but I am sure that whatever they put there is already being decided by TPTB, but won't come about until after the "Happiest Celebration on Earth" is complete. So likely, nothing will be announced until 2007.

My personal preference is a coaster-type ride, but then again, I would have several more coasters in all of the Disney parks!

I thought that's where they're putting the new Hundred Acre Wood playground. I could be wrong about the location, though...

Yes, that is the Pooh play area I mentioned. However that area only takes up a very VERY small part of the former site.

Who ever heard of a roller coaster in Hundred Acres Wood ?
Unless it's like a fast curvy wheel barrow ride through Rabbit's carrot patch ?
Or Pooh and Piglet in an upside down umbrella is a rain storm floating in rough water rapids ?

ie Pooh play area and roller coaster comments together.

just some fun idea's for an 'adult' Pooh ride :paw:

When I took the Keys to the Kindgom tour in April I believe they said something along the lines of there was enough room after the Pooh playground for 3 more attractions.

Like 20,000 Leagues, DL's Submarine Voyage has been shut down for several years. Earlier this month, however, it was announced that it's coming back in 2007 as "Finding Nemo's Submarine Voyage."

Too bad they couldn't do this at WDW.

Or could they?

Why not? Of course, it wouldn't be an underwater ride, but with today's technologies and plenty of space left over for concessions and a couple attractions after the Hundred Acres Woods, they could make a quick loading ride that looks like you're underwater. 20K Leagues' subs were a bear to load and unload, I remember the lines would go on forever and the ride's maintenance was cost prohibitive!! I hope they use the area to it's fullest potential!! Hundred Acres is a good start!

Ok, they do have the playground there. But they also have enough room for a ride the size of the haunted mansion AND room enough for a typical fantasyland dark ride. So there is enough room there for a couple of good rides.

wouldnt it be nice if they moved the pooh ride there and brought bacl Mr Toads Wild Ride? ...dreams nostalgicly
