I booked Chef Mickey's for me and my mom the night we were to be going to MNSSHP (Sept 30th). However, my mom had to cancel her trip. I really don't want to eat at Chef Mickey's alone, so will be cancelling it. What would be a good restaurant to replace it with? I was thinking Tony's, Grand Floridian Cafe, or Concourse Steak House. I ate at Konas on my May trip and enjoyed it, but want to try something different. I've also eaten at Tony's once, but it's been a while. GF Cafe and Concourse I've never tried. Any suggestions for the night of the party that's close to MK, but not a character meal or two TS credits?

I'd probably go to Boma, and just get the bus over to the MK from there.

Ohana is good, that is someplace I prefer with other people though.

Boma is different, and the food (IMHO after this last meal at CM's) is far superior and more interesting. I can't think of any meal for 1 table service credit I'd have for dinner by myself near the MK. Maybe Concourse, though I'm not sure if it will be open then (probably, though I don't have the Contemporary renovation schedule in front of me).

Before you cancel anything!!! My trip counter doesn't actually work (or else it's signifying 'the trip that will never be' :)). What date/time is your reservation? We may be at Disney World at the same time, and I wouldn't mind sharing your table.

I am sure you prob want something in MK area. (though Boma is soooo good!)
Concourse Steakhouse is quite enjoyable, underrated and will soon be gone....

That's a great idea!! Why don't you try to find a fellow DISer who will be there at the same time?

if your looking for something real quick and yummy go to Earl of Sandwich in downtown disney if your staying near there!! getting there takes 4ever but it is sooo good!!

I go to Disney by myself, and have gone 2 times so far. Both times I ate at Chef Mickeys, and it was great. So what it's a character meal, the characters interact with everyone. I really enjoyed dinner at Chef Mickeys the last time. My ADR was for 5:00, the time they open. I was able to see what they do at the opening, plus it seemed like they characters interacted more at the beginning with everyone. Plus the food was great. I didn't feel imidated by all the other families. Give it a try.

i owuld go anyway
good chance to get some pics with the characters
if not I would have dinner at Kona

I have been to Chef Mickeys many, many times over the years. I was disappointed with it this past week - there are a lot of restaurants that I'd choose over it (including Boma, but I've heard good things about the downstairs WP's too at DD).
