Repeat cruise. How to mix it up.

Anyone take the same cruise multiple times? How to you keep things new? Will be going on our 3rd 5 day Magic cruise. The schedule just works best for that cruise. We are considering skipping MDR, tired of the menu, so we would try Cabanas and room service. Any other tips?

Just like the freedom of not having to do everything. Go to the show or don’t, try different things in the navigatior since some things overlap. Go off the ship or stay on and enjoy the ship with less people. Or just have a nap up on deck while others are running ...lol

Sleep in knowing your not missing something.

Couple of things - Cabanas menu for dinner is the same menu every night, from what's been reported.

Room Service doesn't really have an extensive menu, but for 5 nights, you'll probably find enough variation.

We've only done one actual repeat, a 7 night Mexican Riviera cruise a few years ago. But, we've done similar cruises to some DCL cruises, on other lines (Hawaii, Baja).

In 45 DCL cruises we obviously have repeated itineraries....funny I never feel that it gets old or that I need to keep things new. I enjoy seeing the shows every cruise and enjoy going to the MDR's. Just by chance we did a Fantasy Cruise last minute earlier this month and it was during the Superbowl….that was a first for us....to watch the Superbowl on Deck 9!!! We missed the MDR that night.

When we travel with our grandkids it is obviously a different cruise experience than when we travel adults only (no hanging out at the adult areas) but we still do the shows and MDR's.

We've done repeat itineraries but never felt like it was a repeat cruise. We simply pick different activities, maybe spend time in different lounges, do different excursions (or none at all). For us, it's frequently not about the ports anyway, it's the ship. And we rarely get to everything. We fully had intentions of spending time in the Tube, O'Gills, Oh La La, La Piazza and Skyline, play mini golf, and Midship Detective Game. We spent most of our time in the hot tub, Cove Cafe, never played mini golf or MDG and only got to Oh La La and La Piazza during one of the alcohol tastings. Instead of going to the Pirate night fireworks, we sat out on the starboard area outside Meridian with a glass of champagne and watched them there. Didn't go to any shows or even movies. Actually, I'm not entirely sure what we did for the whole week but it was lovely and I really want to go back and do it again. And I'd be fine with the same itinerary. I might not even get off the ship.

We hVe been on over 22 dcl cruises. Many in the Caribbean with the same ports. We rarely get off. Just sit in the cove and ride the slide multiple times. We love the ADRs and never miss those. I love the cocktail tasting and sign up for as many as I can—my husband doesn’t like them. He still loves the shows. I could care less. Usually let him go, take my time getting ready and go for a drink somewhere before I meet him after the show. We go to late dining and then hit the adult show and some music. We have an adult daughter with Down syndrome. We always bring her best friend. They do their own thing all day. Usually involving the characters. And they love the shows so they go with my husband. We might go to a family show before dinner. Or watch her do karaoke. After dinner they search for more characters or go with us to a show. For us it’s mostly about our girl enjoying herself. As long as she’s happy we’re happy. And she’s happy doing dcl so even if we hit the same ports it’s fine.
