Hi everyone, I have a question regarding my bedroom set. My bedroom set is 16 years old and with all of the military moves we have made it has seen better days. I absolutely love the set and would love to have it repaired or restored, but am not sure how or if it can be done. It is all pine and there are scratches and dents in the wood and one part of the four poster bed has a gash in it where the movers dropped it on the bed rails and the rail got imbedded into the post.

Do companies exist that do this kind of work and if so is it more expensive to repair or better to replace.

There are companies that repair, strip and refinish furniture, but they usually charge a fortune. I would get a few estimates and go from there.

I took a class in refinishing at night school many years age. It's tough work. Although pine is the easiest to work with, mohogany being the worst, but the most beautiful when refinished. I am working on a Queen Anne Secretary for one of my DD right now. It's small and it will probaly take me a couple of months to do.
