Hi folks...
Just wanted to share a tip with you all. My 15yr old whirlpool dryer broke on me last week. I was devastated because we had just come home from a two week vacation and i had tons of laundry and not much cash left . So we went to Sears to find a dryer that would stack on top of my front load washer. The only one that would work was $1000!!! Determined to save the money I researched online how top fix a dryer that won't start. Thats when I came across a web site with appliance techs. I tried all the things the man advised me to try and we determined the problem was the timer. A replacement timer was around $100. I was able to find one used on ebay for $25, we installed it ourself and voila my dryer is fixed!!!!! I am forever grateful for applianceblog!!!!!! Hope this helps anyone to save money on appliance repairs in the future!

Thank you for this! My dishwasher stopped working 2 weeks ago and now it's working fine. . .

I'm now trying to figure out how to fix my ice maker. . .it may be an expensive fix though so might not be worth it, but at least I know what the problem is now.

Our fridge has been leaking water under the vegetable drawer. It has gotten so bad, it puddles after a couple days. After reading your post I googled how to fix it. It seems this is a common problem, caused by a clog.

I took apart our fridge and FIXED it! This made my day. I am not so great at fixing things, so I felt really good when it worked.

I love this board, advice from the best rides at Disney, how to prevent heat rash, ability to get in on a fridge swap, and how to fix appliances! YEAH! Go disboards!

Thank you!! Our dishwasher has been leaking and after checking out the website I found out what is wrong. It is an EASY fix and I just ordered the part from ebay.

Wonderful.

Our washer died. DH looked on YouTube and found a video on how to repair it.

All it needed was some soldering.....free fix! That was 4 years ago and it still is running strong.
