We just recently invited another person to go with us for our Spring Break trip, and she will need to rent a motorized scooter. Here at home she uses her leg brace but her mom said she would need a scooter for WDW. We will be staying at OKW for 5 nights and not for sure where the last 2 nights yet. She has her own wheelchair that she uses when she is having brace problems here at home but her mom said she would not be able to wheel herself for that long of a vacation and it doesn't have handles for others to push. My question is how is the bus transportation and where to get a scooter? We will not be renting and a car but will be using ME. Will ME be a problem? Thanks

Check out the FAQ section at the top of the page for great info. on where, how, who, and how much, maybe, with regards to renting a scooter for use at WDW.

besides the rental information, the FAQs thread also has information about how the buses work when you take a bus to the park with an ECV or wheelchair.
ME does have buses that can transport wheelchairs, power wheelchairs and ECVs (I'm assuming she will probably be bringing her manual wheelchair with her on the plane?).
Since you mention her mom and don't mention her age, I just wanted to make sure that you know that the parks and the off-site places generally require the person who will be driving the ECV to be over the age of 18.

Thanks for all the quick responses. As of right now she will not be bringing her wheelchair, she will be using airport chairs to get to and from the plane. She is 20 years old so that is not a problem. I just finished reading the FAQ and I think we will be fine. Any difference in the companies listed at the top for renting a ECV? I thought when I was at DVC in November I saw some ECV's sitting in the library room are those always there? I believe they were from an outside company but not for sure. Thanks again.

The ones listed in the FAQs thread are the ones that DIS posters have pretty consistently used and reported good experiences with. I'd suggest she just look at their websites and decide from that.
The biggest difference is that one company (Randy's) requires you be there for drop off and pick up of the ECV. Some people prefer the scooter to be waiting for them; other people appreciate being there when the scooter is delivered and being able to get a look at it and ask questions before taking delivery of it.

There are often some sitting there. Sometimes they are ECVs that have been dropped off by one of the outside companies and are waiting to be picked up by the guests who rented them.
Sometimes some of them are there for charging. Some guests prefer not to keep the ECV in their room and leave it there. They just make a stop at the library when they leave the resort and return it there when they get back. (arranged thru Bell Services).
