Renting-Resorts WBC SOLVED!thanks to DIS boards!

Has anyone had any trouble from renting Wyndham BC from this person/company?
Renting-Resorts (ebay)
We purchased a 4 bedroom presidential for spring break from them, after seeing the 100% positive feedback.

Now we (and another person as ascertained from the feedback )are trying to get our money back because we never received our confirmation order after SEVERAL emails. We are now going to have to get this resolved and get our money back and then leave a negative feedback.

Panicking now because we have the tickets, for everything but no place to stay.

I have no experience with them. But have you called the resort to see if there is a reservation for you?

Can't you call the resort directly and see if they have your reservation on file? If so, that is the important part.

No experience actually renting from this eBay'er but I just requested/received a quote from them last weekend for Myrtle Beach. The response was prompt.

PLEASE keep us updated on your outcome & experience with them, and I hope all is alright with your transaction.

my husband is the one who purchased the item back in December. I am hoping it is a simple fix. But the new posting by the person in feedback giving the negative rating is scaring me.

i am hoping it is a simple problem like the seller is sick. but honestly some sort of communication would be a good thing.

Try sending them an e-mail, include a phone number and ask them to call you. Sometimes e-mails can end up in a spam folder or some e-mail providers will automatically delete them if they think they are spam. Since someone else on this board seems to have had no problem contacting them I would try asking them to call you on the phone.

no we would be a guest of the person selling it.
so it would be under his/her name. all we have is the company he/she uses on ebay. renting-resorts.
we have been doing this for years via ebay and this is the first time this has happened to us.

plus since he hasnt be responding to our emails he doesnt know who we are... lol but he got my money via paypal lol...

You could always file a claim with Paypal. It will force the seller to get in contact with you. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this!

Yes check your spam folders. What is your plan after getting your money back? Are you going to try booking with another rental company?

i called dh and told him what you said. this seems to make sense. renting resorts is maybe getting the shaft from the person they are selling it for... which is too bad.. but honestly an email at least would help.

nothing in the spam folder.. check that daily.. (school emails end up there )

actively searching ebay for something to replace as soon as paypal settles this... too bad too...

You may want to consider one of the well known companies instead of ebay. we booked through vacation strategy and communication was prompt.

I can't say for sure about WBC but when I have rented Hilton or Marriott weeks from eBayers I can just call the Hilton or Marriott and my name is the one that the reservation is under. I would just call WBC and see if they have a record of your name under your week. Can't hurt and if they do have it you'll feel better.

Also, you don't get put into the WBC system untill a week to 10 days out.

your reservation is in the time share owners name still. They will transfer the reservation to your name just before the trip.

Some trust is required on your part.

I have rented from ebay to stay at WBC but not from that seller but the reservation will be in your name. Call the resort tell them you want to check your reservation and you don't have to have a confirmation number to check.

Glad you got your confirmation. I just wanted to let you know that I have rented from through Ebay them many times years ago and they were great to deal with.

Brooke usually answered any questions I posted through Ebay quickly. She gave me her phone number when I needed to work out more details.

I remember it usually took a while before I got the confirmations. They have to get the confirmation back from the timeshare before they can forward it to you so a late delivery may not be their fault.

I would gladly rent from them again.
