Hi, I am not at all sure of what I am doing but anyway....I am considering trying to rent points for a stay Dec 4-11,2005. We are a family of 7. It takes considerable less points to rent 2 studios than a 2 bdrm villa. Is it possible to get 2 studios side by side? If I manage to figure this all out and actually rent some points can someone tell me how I can find out if the person I rent from is legit? Can I still take advantage of the "Magic Your Way" dining plan or park ticket options? Thank you so much for your time and patience!

Read the FAQ on the Rent/Trade board for information on the process.

Some resorts may have studios that are adjacent to one-another (although there would be VERY few), but there are no connecting studios. IMO, a two-bedroom is worth the extra points when compared to two studios.

DVC members are not eligible for the dining plan. All WDW guests can purchase the Magic Your Way tickets.

I'll start -

It may be possible to get two studios side by side, but it is very, very unlikely. I think there are only a few studios (dedicated studios) at BWV that are adjacent. There may not be any adjacent studios at the other DVC resorts - most studios connect to a 1 bedroom to make a 2 bedroom unit. There are no connecting studios at any of the WDW DVC resorts.

Renting requires trust on both sides. You can read other posts by the person you are dealing with and/or request references. However, there is no way to guarantee that you are dealing with an honest person. And the owner has no way to know if you will pay on time, cancel out at the last minute or even damage the unit. If you are going to worry about this, don't rent. There have been only one or two reports here of bad renting experiences. Chances are very much in your favor (to have a positive experience).

You can certainly buy MYW tickets to use with your DVC stay - either in advance or when you check in. The MYW dining plans are not available for points stays.

The time you have chosen is a very popular time for DVC members to visit - availability is already limited. If you are serious about a DVC points stay during this time, you need to ge something reserved as soon as you can.

FWIW, renting points for Friday and Saturday nights is almost always more expensive than just paying cash for those nights. Consider a 5 night points stay (check in Sunday and out on Friday) for the best value. That might make the 2 bedroom a better value - and I highly recomend the 2 bedroom over two studios, especially since you are all one family and the chances of getting adjacent studios are almost zero.

Best wishes -
