renting points

I just signed up and I am looking to rent some points. My question is can I rent or transfer banked points or can I only do it with current points.

You can rent out either banked or current use year points, but only current use year points can be transferred

I recently became a DVC member and still have quite a few questions. Can anyone tell me where to find a written explanation of policies for transferring points?

Try going to the dvcmember website
From there, go to MyDVC-> Account Help -> Understanding your Vacation Points

It explains which points are available for transfer and which points aren't. If you want details about the procedure for transferring points, you can always call MS.
