Renting Points with Two Months Before Expiration - Impossible?

Hello all,

I am in the processes of going through the ROFR for a contract at VGF. The contract is loaded and has 100 points banked from 2016 into 2017 that will expire on March 31, 2018. Assuming my contract closes in late January 2018, what are the prospects for getting those points rented out as we are traveling to Disney in April 2018 and cannot use these 100 points.

Is there a better option? Transferring the points to someone?

Given it will be two months before expiration not sure what will be available to rent, but I'd hate to just lose the points for nothing. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

It's certainly possible, but short notice means limited availability and low prices. Expect $8-$10 per point. When I was in that situation, I focused on other members who could check availability themselves and gave them a discount.

That is good advice.....did you work through a broker or just list the points yourself? I'd be good with $8-$10 a point...better than nothing.

You should also make clear when renting, if you do it solo, that the points are going to be for Saratoga.

I did it myself. I think I was down to three weeks in the end, so I made a list of all the rooms available and updated it each morning.
