Renting Points - What is Value Without Park Reservations

With the current reservation system, a potential renter today could not make park reservations unless they either had tickets or AP prior to Disney stopping the sale to enter the parks, however currently making a DVC reservation is the only way to make a new resort reservation.

Since most people would not want a resort vacation only, why would a potential renter rent from DVC Store, David's, individual, etc. without the guarantee of an available park reservation for their stay rent points?

I have both points and reservations to rent that I do not plan on using, however, I guess I am just thinking of the downside.

What am I missing?

Honestly, I think you are right and it may impact the rental market for the rest of 2020...at least until ticket sales come back up.

The problem is that rentals are usually not refundable. And when you buy the tickets, you will know if you have the days..so someone would have to buy and then hope they can get DVC rental.

Thanks Sandy for your reply.

I looked for a thread from one of the rental companies that are sponsors of the board for their take on this issue. I could not find any.

That is why I made the post hoping I was totally forgetting something.
