Renting points Questions

I'm interested in buying into DVC, but wanted to rent points at DVC resort first before taking the plunge.
Just wondering about your experiences dealing with a US renter as it seems there are few UK DVC owners wanting to rent out points.

How did you make payment? Were there disadvantages to your particular method?

Also, if you paid a deposit when did you pay the full amount - was it at the 30day mark?

Finally, how much did you pay per point and if you transacted with a UK DVC member, did you pay more than you would've had you done the deal with a US owner?

Lots of questions I know, but I don't want to jump in before I know a bit more about renting.

I have rented out my points to both US and UK members. I'll try and answer your queries from my perspective.

1 Payment was made using Paypal from US members and by cheque and Paypal from UK

2 I asked for 25% of cost as a deposit and then asked for the balace 30 days before check-in.

3 I asked 11$ per point or £5.25....the UK renter got a good deal.

I also ask the renter to "sign" an agreement, stating all financial terms and conditions. If they withdraw from the contract they forfeit all monies paid at that point.
