Renting points-question about buying park tickets

I am renting points at OKW for my Christmas trip (this trip will also help me to decide if I want to buy into DVC)!

I want to purchase UPH tickets for myself and DD. Yes, we will use these well as DD is 18 and we love to visit Pleasure Island and Disney Quest.

My question is can I call M.S. and purchase these before arrival or does the member have to do this? I want to purchase them prior to arrival so I get the pre-purchase discount. Or do I just have to wait until check in to buy them?

When you stay on points (including renting), you cannot buy UPH tickets in advance. You can only buy them at check in. Thus you will pay gate price for the UPH tickets.

The good news is that the Front Desk CMs are very good about dropping the arrival day or the departure day or both if you ask. Can't do that when you buy in advance.

It is also possible that you will get a 10% discount on the UPH tickets (discount is off the gate price). This is a DVC member perk and technically not available to renters, but it is not uncommon for renters to get it anyway. You just can't absolutely count on it (but will probably get it).

I had a nagging feeling that this was going to be the answer. It's not a big deal, just that, like most people on these boards, I am anal about planning and getting things done prior to my arrival...lol.
