Dw,Ds, and I are planning a trip back to WDW in late Sept. Dates could move by a week either way. How late is too late to try to rent points. We are looking into a DVC purchase but want to stay in one first. Trip would be about 7 days.

3-5 months out would be running it tight. Although September (late) is often a good time to visit since schools in the US are back in session.

Late Sept. use to be our favorite time to visit WDW. You get the soft opening and hard of Food and Wine, the MNSSHP and the low crowds.

With F&W getting rooms at BCV or BWV are hard in late Sept/Oct. We usually called the first thing at the 7 month window to get BCV and got it 3 years in a row. Never a problem.

Generally, September is one of the easier times to book on shorter notice. However, depending on where you want to stay, villa type & specific dates, you could run into some trouble. If you are flexible with resort, dates and villa size/type, you will virtually always find space on short notice for a September stay.

In general:

Keep in mind that the last weekend of September is the beginning of the Food & Wine Festival at EPCOT. This is a very busy time for the EPCOT resorts & BLT (monorail access to EPCOT). You may run into problems if your dates include this weekend.

Less expensive villa types are almost always filled shortly after the 7 month window opens (if not before).

Good luck!
