Hi all,
I rented points to stay at the Poly back in October 2018 and it was a very easy process and was secured quickly.
I put in a request for May 20-27 back at the 1 year mark. Placed in the queue at the 11 month mark.
Have not heard back anything other then the Poly has a large queue and they are waiting for members with enough points.
My question is: anyone have a guess on the chances of this going through? Should I book something else through Disney as a back up? Not sure if it usually takes this long or if this is due to the 50th anniversary, Poly renovation or what?!?!

Better to book a backup. In addition to the 50th, there is also the problem that Covid caused a lot of reservations to be canceled and points going unused. For the next couple of years there will be less availability while owners try to use those. By the time they get enough Poly points your dates might be already booked.

I just booked the poly for January a few weeks ago and it came through within 24 hours also.

David's waitlisted me at the 11 month mark this past June for a split stay in May 2022 at Poly and Beach Club studios, and DVC-Rental also told me they had a wait list for both resorts. I ended up being able to secure both reservations through DVC Shop within 72 hours. They were slightly more expensive but this was a split stay for a Honeymoon so I gladly paid some extra to sleep better at night knowing I had what we wanted!!

I saw a BCV available with DVC Shop but had never heard of them before so am wary of booking with so many scams out there. Did you have a good experience? It is a legitimate company?

It’s available, they must not have the points. Pre-COVID, poly points were really in demand.

They are definitely a legitimate company! They replied to emails really quickly, and they have a DVC selling side which I googled and found good reviews for. I was soooo excited that they were able to fill requests for Poly and BCV so quickly when the other brokers couldn't, so they definitely have a good amount of owners working with them. I got my MDE numbers immediately and linked with no problem.

The biggest "downfall" for me was that they charged PayPal fees. I don't know how dedicated reservations work, but when I booked a "custom" reservation I had to do the initial deposit via PayPal and eat the fee, but for the final payment I had the open to either do PayPal or mail a check. I ended up doing a check via USPS priority envelope so I could track it and then they emailed me to confirm receipt. Just something to think about, though the fees might not be worth the check hassle if it's a less expensive stay.

We had used them before for a 1 night confirmed. Very easy process but we also had the Paypal fees. I dont recall if there was another option besides that but the overall price was very low so the Paypal wasnt really a concern for that.
