Renting points for DL hotels?

How does one go about renting points to use at the Disneyland hotels? How do you know how many points you need per night? Is this an easy transaction for the renter and rentee, or is it just not worth it?

In most cases, you may be able to make a DL reservation thru Disney directly for less than thru a DVC member. Just be sure to know what you would pay for the reservation thru Disney before accpeting an offer from a DVC member.

The non-DVC point charts may not be available for 2009 at this time. Just be sure to do the math before trying to rent ANY reservation at a resort other than a DVC resort. In most cases, the rental may be more than a direct reservation.

Not worth the time, the points or the money. The points needed to stay at DLR are high. That said, I've personally used my Developer Points and a few of next year points to stay at the GCH. I think for the most part, you can find special packages that end up less than renting points.
