We are currently booked at POFQ for two weeks - Oct.24-Nov.6. I have only ever stayed on Disney property and love it, but with having such a long trip planned we are liking the idea of a 2 bedroom at Bonnet Creek for much less money. We have two girls that will be 5 & 7 at the time of the trip and we are planning on shorter park days with down time to actually relax!
If we rented points we would probably go through Ken because of all the positive things I have read here. Does he have an unlimited amount of points to rent or if I wait too long could he run out? How far in advance do we have to book? I see this time of year is considered value season for Bonnet Creek, so probably not the busiest time of year. I was hoping to wait and see if Disney releases any discounts for the fall before I change anything.
What is the cancellation policy if renting points?
Thanks for your help.
So glad you are considering BC! Of course I am a huge fan, so I am quite biased, but I think choosing it for your 2-week trip is a good idea. First off, one room, two beds, one bathroom, and one small fridge will get very old after one week. BC has tons of space including two beds, two baths, a full kitchen, living room, and dining area (if you get a 2-bed of course). You can really stretch out! You will lose out on EMH, but being that you'll be there for 2 weeks, that should not be a problem at all.
BC will probably end up being cheaper for you in the long run. You are likely going to pay about $120 or less each night, but Ken can often get you a better price. We are paying $90/night for our April trip.
I have booked a little as 6 weeks in advance (July trip) and also 5 months in advance (upcoming April trip).
Our cancellation policy with him is pretty good. This is what it says in
my documents:
"Should Renter cancel, Owner agrees to return all monies received, less $129. However, Renter is not able to cancel this agreement fewer than 20 days before the arrival date without forfeiting all monies paid. If any payment is more than 5 days late, then Owner shall deem Renter to have cancelled."
I don't know that he has unlimited points. That's a good question!
