Renting points for a DCL cruise?

I don't know much about DVC but I think members can use their points on cruises, right? Can I rent points towards the cost of a DCL cruise? If so, is there a chart that shows me how many points I need for a certain cabin and cruise? We love DCL cruises but I'm trying to find ways to save money on them.

It would be cheaper to just pay cash for the cruise. DCL cruises take a lot of points.

In general it would be both cheaper and safer to pay cash due to the conversion points costs. However, IF you are looking at an option that is not discounted much (or not discounted when you're looking) AND you can find distressed points, it's possible to make the numbers work.

Don't do it. You will pay twice as much as to just pay cash for the cruise.
