I am renting points. Can I get the restaurant discounts? If so, what do I need to show for proof?

Technically, the discounts are for actual members only. However, your room key will probably say "DVC member" and many (but not all) dining locations will probably automatically give you the discounts when they ring out your meal. But don't push the issue if you're denied.

Remember that most DVC discounts at EPCOT are lunch ONLY.

Technically, you need to show your blue DVC member card - which you won't have as a renter. Some restaurants will take the room key that says DVC member on it.

The DVC Member discounts are for members. If you are not a member, you are not entitled to these. If you are staying with the member at the DVC resort, you may be entitled to some of the discounts. If you rented a reservation from the member and the member will not be at that resort with you, the discounts are not transferrable to you.

Most places ask for the blue membership card when you ask for discounts. We have been asked for the blue card a lot in the last couple of years.

We rented a couple of years ago and used the discount with our room key at a couple of places. The renter is the one that tolds us about the discounts so we didn't know discounts were for members only.

We don't have to worry about that anymore as we are members. Good luck.

Our experience has been the same. I think it might have once been easier, but whenever we've checked a DVC discount, they've wanted to see our "blue card."

These discounts cost DVC nothing so it doesn't hurt to ask at the point of sale and see what happens.
