My family and I are going to the World Oct. 2011 on rented points for the first time and we will be adding the DDP after the new year. My question is - Do we have to contact the member that we are renting points from to book our ADRs for us? Also, now that I have the confimation number of the reservation can we link the ADRs to the reservation or is that something that the DVC member will have to do? I know we have to add the dining through the member renting points, just real hazy on the rest of the details. One other thing, do we have to add the DDP before we can book the ADRs for the entire trip at the 180 day mark?

You can make your own dining reservations using Disney's dining website or by calling 407-WDW-DINE.

You can also make your reservations and then add DDP, they are seperate items. Just a note on the DDP, if you have not already added it, at the time it is added, payment is now due. DDP must also be added at least 48 hours in advance of your arrival.

The payment at time it is added is new, it previously was payable on arrival, but this is no longer the case.

The DDP will have to be added by the DVC Member (and paid for), too. Some owners choose not to do this for their rentals, so you should call the person you rented from now.

You do have to pay in advance now and you can cancel 48 hours in advance. I rented out my points to a family and was told by member services the DDP would have to be paid by someone who was on the reservation. So I had to get the credit card from my renters to pay for the DDP. Make sure you have the security code as well. Was no big deal and I don't have to worry about not getting paid back.

There seems to mixed messages on who needs to pay, whether the renter must or the owner or if it doesn't matter at all. I think DVC needs to firm up the procedures on this.

Also, if you are planning on doing a dining event like Cinderella's Royal Table and using credit for it you need to have the ddp on your room reservation first or you will have to pay for the meal when you make the reservation. There are several other dining events that are pre-paid.

The payment may be made using a credit card belonging to a guest listed in the room, or by the member (owner) making the reservation.
