Renting Points and Magic Bands/FPP

My husband's co-worker is renting points from her inlaws. The inlaw is setting everything up (including the ME).

Will the inlaw need to set up the FPP options for them? Or can she set up the MDE app and take care of that herself? We were just there and it was nice to be able to change the return time on the fly from our phone.

It's her first time and I want to help her have the best experience possible! She has been told all about the traditional FP and I hope to be able to help her through FPP since the traditional FP might not be available for her late January trip.
