Renting now Owning

I have an odd situation. We rented points for a reservation for this August, and now have purchased our own contract. We're still going to keep the point rental, but I wonder if there's a way to move the points and the reservation under our account before then. Maybe this isn't possible, but I thought I'd ask. Has anyone seen this situation before?

I don't think that would be possible without giving up the reservation - the reservation is tied to a member, not points, so it wouldn't move if the points moved. If it's an easy to replace reservation, that might not be a problem - you could just rebook it after the transfer.

The only way to accomplish that would be for the other owner to cancel the reservation, transfer the points into your account and then you'd have to make the reservation under your account. There is no way to simply transfer a reservation from one account to another.

I'd just keep it as it is now since there are too many complications involved to do it any other way at this point.

You'll need to remember that even though you are a DVC member now, you still cannot call MS to make requests, etc for this rented reservation. You still don't own it.

And since we are only allowed one transfer in or out each year, the member that you rented from really has no incentive to use their transfer option to transfer the points to you.
