Renting My DVC Question

We are thinking of renting some banked points we have, that still have a year on them, through David's program but have some concerns. We are not concerned with David but with the potential renters.

Q1:What would happen to your membership if the person who rented the points did some damage or misbehaved at the resort?

Q2:Could the person who rented extend their stay using my points without my permission?

If anyone could help answer this it would be great

Thanks

Unfortunately, if there was damage to a villa or left over unpaid charges, you would be responsible for those since the reservation was made on your points.

And there have been stories where an unexperienced renter asked if a better view was available, it was and the points were taken from the owners account with asking the owner first.

1-You are responsible for any damage.
2-The renter isn't suppose to be able to modify the reservation but we had a renter add the DDP after arrival so anything could happen.

There was a post about a year or so ago about a someone who rented points from an owner and the renter put a visa on their room card for charging. At the end when they checked out Disney found out the Visa was not good. The owner was left with the bill. Not sure why Disney did not check the visa first. Not sure if that is still how it is done today.

how is the owner responsible for damages?
Theses reservations are made in the name of the parties that rent them

DVC's contract is with the owner solely. Hence, that is the responsible party for damages. They will not involve themselves with anyone else (ie someone you may have rented to). They will leave that to you to recoup from the person you rented to..

The card was good when they checked in but somehow it was cancelled before checkout and they could not run the charge at checkout.
