Renting from VRBO payment questions

We are going to rent a house from VRBO. I got an email reply from the owner with the name of a bank, account number, and routing number for me to send the deposit. I've never paid that way before. How is it done? Thanks!

They want you to do a wire transfer. You'll have to go to your bank to take care of this. There will probably be a fee of $10-40 for it.

We were also sent the name and address of the bank and the account number but we just mailed our check to the bank with the information on a seperate peice of paper and the check and it was deposited to their account.
No problem.
That's just my experience.

I just spoke with my MIL who is going to make the deposit tomorrow and she said she uses the same bank as the owner. So hopefully it won't cost anything. She said she could probably just fill out a deposit slip and do it that way and it wouldn't cost anything.

We also handled our payment the same as debden and it also went through fine. If your MIL has any problems I would talk to the owner or your bank before you pay $40 for a wire transfer. I can't imagine paying that much in this age of electronic banking so there may be other options.
