Renting from an owner

Not sure if this is the best place for this question but I wanted to ask DVC owners so I thought this was the best of the DVC boards to ask. A family friend is in the process of booking a stay for me using her points. Will I be able to do anything once she puts our names and email on the reservation or will she have to do everything since she’s the owner?
 
Once you get the reservation number, you just add it to your My Disney Experience account and then it's treated as a normal reservation. You'll be able to book your dining, tickets, etc as normal. :)

You’re friend will need to do anything directly related to the reservation like change dates or names or add DDP.

You still have control of all the other categories in MDE like making dining plans, ordering MBs, buying/linking tickets etc.
 
Thank you both for the information. We do like the DDP so assuming it’s back by May we’ll have them add it for us. The reservation is being booked as we speak so hopefully I’ll have a reservation number sometime today.

it needs to be paid for when it’s booked (dining plan) so plan for a three way conference call to provide your credit card to the MS agent
 
If you want to make a room request, your friend will have to do it for you. (Unless you pay for a subscription on www.touringplans.com and make a room request that way - I think you can do that if you are renting.)

Touring Plans sends a fax about 5 days prior to the reservation. We use and like that service, it’s worked well for us. Anybody can send the fax, it needs to get to Room Assignments at your resort.

It was reported here some time ago that Touring Plans no longer uses faxes but was given a special email address and they email the room request about 30 days before checkin. Has that changed again?

I guess so.
People can still try those routes themselves, it’s just easier to have TP do it than tracking down the email or fax # to the correct dept at your resort.
