Renting from an owner through Windsorhillrent.com?

I received quotes from condo owners at Windsorhillrent.com I like one of the condos and the price he's renting at but I can't find any reviews or info on the owner or condo. I would think he is an owner in good standing if Windsor Hill forwards your info for a price quote but I would feel better if I knew more. I'm not used to renting from an owner and don't want to have any problems when we get there. Thanks, Linda

Does the unit you are interested in have some sort of name associated with it? For example, the unit we always rent at Windsor Hills is called "Magical Times".

We rent through owners and agree the reviews are important. Many of the owners also have vrbo links. Can you try to investigate that route. I think more people post reviews on VRBO and Homeaway. Also, as KEVD mentioned post the condo name (if there is one).

Disneyworld2miles.com is their website but no name for the condo I have done a lot of research checked VRBO as well even posted the info on the disboards and someone else said they were also interested but also couldn't find anything. We are going Tuesday to Tuesday some condos that are recommended won't rent those days. The other 2 condos I'm considering are $100 to $150 more but are also closer to the clubhouse/pool so I may just go with one of them. Linda

I personally would not rent the condo on the website you listed. Here's why:

Its a hotmail email address - who uses hotmail anymore?
Christmas, T-giving rates are considerably lower than other windsor hills properties for that time of year. Seems like a lure to me

I would suggest using vrbo. I have used them many times and never had a problem. I just rented a 3BR condo in building 8 (the one closest to the pool) for $89 a night. The balcony faces the pool too. Thats a good price for a WH property and the owners phone info is there, she has always emailed me promptly, and there are plenty of reviews. Sometimes vrbo owners also list their website and you can find more info. But I'd never start with a random website that had no vrbo connection. And through Home Away (also vrbo) you are protected on payments and it tells you how long they have been a member of the site.

If you are dead set on that condo, call the phone number and get the persons name and the condo #. Then call WH and see if you can verify that they own it.

I have written many Villa reviews and few of them get posted. The Villa owners take down anything containing something negative and tend to keep only the positive. No villa is perfect, so, my rule? If the review doesn't point out something negative, then the review was probably written by the villa owner. You need to protect yourself. Don't give the owner your credit card. Make payments through PayPal using your credit card so the owner doesn't see your credit card, but you get credit card protection. If they want a security deposit, use a credit card gift card. Check out the property on Zillow. Talk to the owners on a telephone. Ask them questions. And remember: Buyer be ware.

Did you end up renting through Disneyworld2miles? I'm having the exact same situation and unable to locate any reviews? Worried it may be a scam?

The website where you started your search has a FAQ on the About page that addresses your questions.
