I don't think you do at all. You will have to go through the MK toll booth to get to the CCC.

I know that when I was researching on picking up from this location, they did list other area hotels/resorts where the would pick you up with their shuttle.

No you don't have to be staying at Disney. I've done it a couple of times staying offsite. I had friends of ours take me there to pick up the vehicle. It's just through the parking toll gates. We just told them that we were going to pick up a rental car and they waved us through.
