Renting DVC points

Are there other groups to rent points from besides here (David's is crazy priced IMO). I need some last minute points Hubby said we could go as a Christmas gift!!

My husband and son got stuck in Disney due to weather in August. I rented them distressed points through the Timeshare Store for $8/point. May be worth keeping an eye on that if you are flexible. David used to do distressed points specials, but they are few and far between now (both send out the specials on their mailing lists).
I will say TSS was not a great experience for renting. The person responding to the emails seemed to have no idea about DVC. I told them exactly what I wanted and he kept coming back with more questions - all of which were answered in my original email. Then he kept telling me I needed to pay more for my standard view AKV studio - that the money I sent him "only covered the less expensive Savannah view." I had to keep correcting him, he kept telling me I was wrong. So pack your patience if you deal with them!!!

What are your expectations as far as what you think you should pay for points? I've always thought David's was fairly priced. As the PP stated, occasionally you can happen upon some "distressed" points that must be used in a short period of time, but those generally disappear rather quickly. Otherwise, David's or a someone here on the rent/trade board is your best bet...and the price you'll probably pay will be close to what David's asks.

Correct, and this isn't really the time of year to be scoring last minute reservations at DVC resorts. It happens occasionally, but the chances are slim.

For cheaper point rental than the brokers, you can look at the renting board here on the DIS. You can find 12-13 points rental if you don't look for rare reservations. However, there are some risks and limitations (expecially with cancellation policies) with renting. Be sure to understand them all reading the stickies on that board.

You can look on the rental board here and there are other brokers but David's pricing is not out of line with those.
