Renting DVC points

I have been interested in purchasing DVC for quite some time now, but I've recently been interested in renting points. Has this been a good or bad experience for you?

We had a very good experience renting points with David's. I would recommend them. But that being said, I wish I had bought into DVC sooner. The 3 times we've stayed at DVC resorts was almost as much as what I spent buying a resale DVC contract.

I think it depends on how many times you plan to go to WDW.

We had such a good experience renting points that we bought our own BLT points. We rented twice from friends and once through an individual on the Dis. Although the rental from the person we didn't know went smoothly, the lack of control and inability to contact MS about the reservation was nerve wracking. We have been much happier owning our own points. Good luck!
