Renting DVC Points & Pool Hopping

Hi all,

I've been researching renting DVC points. Say I rented a stay at the Boardwalk Villas and wanted to pool hop to Stormalong Bay. Is that feasible? Or is pool hopping for true DVC members only and not their rentees?

Pool hopping isn't included with rentals and FYI Storm-a-long bay is only available to DVC members when staying at BCV.

You're saying SAB is not available for renters to use at BCV, correct?

Is that only the case at BCV?

Could I rent anywhere else and get to use the resort's main pool?

This DVC renting is trickier than I though and I've been reading for a few days now!

If you rent at Beach Club villas then yes you have access to SAB as a Beach Club resort guest.

As a renter you always have full access to the facilities at the resort you are staying in.

As a renter you get no DVC perks (pool hopping) that members get.

Pool hopping is only available to DVC members. It is a benefit for them.

You can always use the pool where you are staying. As long as it is open.

And if a BCV owner books at a different resort -- say, they use their BCV points for a BLT stay -- they cannot use Stormalong Bay during that stay.

If you are sleeping at BCV = you can use the pool.
If you are not sleeping at BCV = no SAB for you, even if you are DVC, or a DVC owner at BCV.

Also I figured that would be a strange policy but I know SAB is more strict w checking that guests qualify to use it! You never know with WDW rules!

You can never pool hop to Stormalong Bay you have to stay at the Beach Club Villas

DVC members also cannot hop to any AKV/AKL pool, the new Polynesian pool, the BLT pool, or any pool at YC/BC. And AoA pool.
