Renting during Christmas-NY 5 months out

My friends have decided last minute to go to WDW 12/26/17-1/2/18 - party of 8, including a 7YO, 4YO, and 80yo.

At this point, what would availability most likely be if they wanted to rent points - nonexistent, given it's the busiest week of the year?

Outlook is pretty bleak. They would need a 2-BR. Scattered 1- and 2-nights may be available and nothing on NYE itself. They would need to find someone with a spec. reservation to rent out. It would likely come at a premium price and would have to include all of the dates the owner has on the reservation. You won't find spec. reservations here on the disboards rent/trade board. Owners cannot post them here. One of the rental agencies may have one.

Agree w Marionette. It's too late to rent for that week (one of the highest demand weeks of the year for both DVC and the parks) unless your friends are able to find a spec reservation and willing to pay a premium for it.
