grr I tried to reply several times but my iPad just doesn't like this forum, I don't know why!
I wanted to thank you all! I got a reply from AVIS Anaheim on Katella and they said they would take my debit card after performing a credit check.
Can anyone tell me how long the credit check takes? Is it an instant process? will we have to wait for long?
I'll check Alamo's rates as well, the thing is that i have an Iberia Plus AWD code, so I might get better rates through them. All of them definitely charge higher to non U.S. residents
For now, renting for 2 days and 4 hours it's like $249 with GPS and all insurances coverages included.
I'll check with Alamo as well, though I think they won't take Iberia airline AWD. When I checked I found higher rates than through Avis. Weird.
The downside of all of this renting thing is that all Anaheim offices from all companies close SO early!!! so that'll mean the car will have to stay overnight at the Anabella for an additional night. And since we'll be doing the Leap Day thing it's specially hard to do the planning for this trip, we would have to hire the car on Tuesday and return it somewhere on Thursday, because we want to spend Friday, Saturday and Sunday at DL. We might rent it only for Tuesday and try to fit all of L.A. and Universal Studios in one day (yes I know, crazy stuff)
Thanks for giving me the hotel parking fee info!
As for the drivers' license, those living in the European Union do need international drivers' permit to drive (it's not required for renting though).
So, thank you all for your replies, you're all so helpful!
Oh, and someone asked when we'll be there, we'll be staying at the Anabella next week. From Monday 27th to Monday 5th. If you see a couple of spaniards completely lost that's us!
