Do you rent beach chairs, umbrellas while at Hilton Head? Any advice here? I like the thoughts of having a couple chairs and umbrellas waiting for me on the beach, but that can be pricey.

I've never stayed at the Disney resort on HHI, but stay on the island frequently so hopefully this helps! We have never rented beach chairs/umbrellas. They tend to be very close together on the beach in the very crowded areas. I suggest bringing your own if possible and walking 5/10 minutes on the beach away from all of the resorts. you will find nice spots that are practically empty compared to where you may enter the beach from the resort.

You can rent chairs/umbrellas from the life guards.
That is what I am going to do. My party will be me and husband and two 12-year-olds, so I am contemplating as if the 12-year-olds will need their own set of chairs and umbrellas. I thinking not right now.

We were there the end if May. You can rent chairs with an umbrella directly from the lifeguard on the beach. I can't remember how much it was but I know you had the option of one day or multi day rentals. The beach is really nice there and having the private beach house was really convenient...clean bathrooms, a bar and food. We really enjoyed our stay at Hilton Head. The resort is also very charming. Be sure to rent bikes at the resort. We used our bikes every day and it was so much fun.

I am going to rent the beach gear from the lifeguards on the beach, that is the best way I can go, but as far as renting bikes, I can get much more out of my money outside of Disney. Four bikes for three days is what I need. Right now, the cheapest I have found them is around $80, to rent them right before we arrive, instead of two weeks early. Patriot Bikes and a couple others are on my short list. But I don't think I can get that good of a deal with Disney.
