If you rent as a DVC member...not using your own points...would you be classified as a DVC member staying on DVC for Disney purposes?

If you are staying on points, you are exempt from the daily resort parking fee. Doesn't matter who owns those points.

As for other perks & benefits, the color of your DVC Membership card will determine what you are eligible for:
If it's blue, you are entitled to all discounts and perks that are extended to DVC members.
If it's white, you are only entitled to pool hopping, DVD rentals and access to the TOTWL. No discounts of any kind (shopping, dining, tours, etc).

If you are renting a DVC stay from another member, you are not entitled to pool hop since you must be staying on YOUR points to pool hop and it must not be blacked out for the time period.
