I have done some research on renting an rv for our stay at fort, does anyone know if any of these included camping chairs and outdoor fire ring? And if so which companies ? Thanks in advance,,,

We rented an awesome RV last October for the fort! It was a huge hassle to get but my advice is stay away from cruise America! They screwed us over when we went to pick up & had to find another place within an hour!!! Didn't get our deposit back either

We are using Greenberg RV for our trip. They bring it to FW and it is all set up when you arrive. Because we are booking for a week they are including chairs, linens, towels, and utensils for free. Their rates start at $449 for the smallest one. We are getting the Piccilo model that is a little bigger for $489 (weekly rate). They also have golf carts for $30 a day and bicycles.

gramma,

Folks here tend to use one of three rental companies. None of them rent RVs in the true sense of the word (a Class A with a motor). These folks rent various trailers.

1. Fort Camper Rental rents popups. This is the cheapest way to rent at the Fort. I have a popup and when it says it can sleep 6, for example, it probably can but there wouldn't be room for much else. Expect to only sleep inside.

2. Greenberg RV rents travel trailers and 5th wheels. These are a little bigger and have solid walls and a roof that the popups don't More expensive, though.

3. Florida Camper Rental rents 5th wheels, travel trailers, and hybrids.

The websites for these folks aren't hard to find and use our Forum Search tool to look for comments about them. I've never used any of them since I have my own camper so I only know what I read here. As far as what they provide, check their websites and call to ask. Can't hurt, can it?

Sorry if I am hijacking this thread. I've tent camped before and I do not have a problem with it. Is there a big difference between renting a pop up and tent camping?

The pop up has a metal base and is off ground on wheels-so you stay dry
ours slept 6-2 on each "wing" and 2 on floor-like above person said-very little walking room!

Pop-ups have air conditioners, tents don't unless u ghetto rig it

Can you elaborate on what issues you had with Cruise America? Did they promise you one price and jack it up when you arrived?

If you want a no hassle RV rental for the Fort check out this web site
greenbergrvflorida.com. They have many models to pick from and everything is explained on their web site. Matt the owner was a wonderful to work with, we had the best week camping ever and this is the only way we will do Disney in the future. And Matt will be the first person we will call.

I rented a pop up from them last summer for myself and 3 recent high-school grads. We could easily have slept a couple more people. It was air conditioned and had a fridge, sink, and microwave.

We had plenty of room to move around inside. We were inside for movies on the DVD and board games and just hanging out. They also set up the awning and had a propane grill under it and chairs and Disney lights and a rug. We had an awesome time. It was set up and cool inside when we arrived and they came as we were leaving to take it all down. Easy peasy.

We looked into renting from cruise america in 2005. The price was well over $6,000 for about 5,500 miles and 4 weeks. We bought a new travel trailer for 9,000. Small but nice Jay feather. It was a left over and we got it in 2006. I just found the cost overpriced to rent these. I guess worth renting one before buying but costly test run.
