We are coming to Disney for a very short trip maybe for two days in May. We are planning to stay in Disney and then leave Orlando and driving to Georgia for a wedding. Any suggestions where to rent a handicapped wheelchair?

Do you mean a wheelchair or a wheelchair accessible van?
Your title said van and your post says a wheelchair.

Follow the link in my signature to the disABILITIES FAQs thread (or look for it stuck near the top of this board).
Post 2 of that thread has information about renting wheelchairs, and if you scroll down toward the bottom of that post, there is some information about renting wheelchair accessible vans.

Sorry I was not clear. We need to rent a wheelchair accessible van. We need an van with a ramp to put him and his wheelchair in

Thanks for the clarification - what you need is in post 2 of he disABILITIES FAQs. The thread is near the top of this board or you can find a link in my signature.
There are several companies listed at the end of post 2.

Be prepared for 'sticker shock'. Regular vans are expensive compared to renting a full size car and wheelchair accessible vans are much more expensive thn regular vans.

You can go to accessiblevans.com and select the city where you need to rent a van. They have dealers all over the country.

They are very expensive - in fact, my wife and I discovered it was cheaper to upgrade to the most expensive category in the most expensive monorail hotel than to rent a wheelchair van and stay in the moderate resort. In fact, the van would have cost more than our entire week long stay in the moderate resort.

I am not even sure if there are one-way wheelchair van rentals, so you may also want to look into train options (since I know flying with chairs is obnoxious)

Thanks Katy for your response. Yes they are expensive. We do not need the van for the time we are in Disney we need it to drive to Georgia for a wedding. Once we get back from the wedding we will stay in Disney for a couple of days.
