Hi,

I'm interested in renting a vacation home next year. I have looked at vrbo.com and windsor-palms. Both have beautiful homes...and so many owners are from the UK...why is that? Anyway, my original question is...should I continue looking at other sites, and if so do you know of any, or are both of those sites fairly comprehensive.

Thanks for your help,
Jeannine

There are a lot of villas listing sites around try
www.orlandovillas.com
www.vacation-rentals-orlando.com

Windsor palms lists only homes on that sub division -the others will have homes from several different ones.

or simply put in florida villas or similar in to google

The reason why so many are owned by people here in the uk is because by owning home in Florida and renting it out we can have vacations when we like and have the freedom to come and go as we please plus have the added bonus of allowing others the opportunity to enjoy the same as well. And Florida has always been a favourite destination of the british making up -generally -for our poor summers here .
At the present time -the weakness of the $ against the £ means that buying property in the States is very inviting as opposed to the cost of buying a home here in UK-plus we have had several tv programmes telling every one how wonderful it is to own a property in Florida without teling the full story -the trouble is people are geting carried away and not looking very far into the future and considering what will happen as the $ strengthens .

Thank you both so much for your help. It has been so much fun looking at all the houses - especially the homes that have every possible amenity.

Jan, thanks for answering my question about why so many UK owners. This September will be our family's 5th year.....we were at Sea World last year and one of the warm-up acts made a joke that if it wasn't for visitors from the UK in September half of Florida would be empty.

Thanks again,
Jeannine

We rented a home from Florida Leisure in May of 2002.

There were 12 of us in a 5 bedroom home located in Cumbrian Lakes. Everything went very well. The house was newly built and very clean. We forgot a book at the house and the company mailed it to us, no charge. I thought that was nice.

My boss just return from Orlando last week and rented a house from them upon my recommendation. He enjoy it very much also.

we just rented two villas they were great, we had 19 people and two villas a 4 bdr and a 5 bdr.. they were four houses apart and it was the best thign we ever did.

The company we used changed names during our planning and I was a little apprehensive so I'm not sure I'd recommend them, but the experience was a good one.

We were a 10 minute drive to the parks, more like 20 on the way home

We rented a four bedroom home in Windsor Palms for our Christmas trip with my brother's family. It worked out extremely well. The home's website is www.vacationhomesorlando
