Hi guys! Hope everyone is safe and sound. My daughter's high-school graduation is this year and we have already booked a (non-Disney) cruise for her gift and we've been so busy watching the cruise-line cancellations that we didn't think about our Disney points.

I missed my banking window last week and just realized it this morning. I understand Disney being strict on banking window right now and I'm not slamming them for not bending the rules for me. In an effort to avoid losing my points, can I book a reservation under may name (there is availability right now) and then rent that reservation to someone else, changing the name on the reservation?

I know you guys can point me in the right direction for information on this topic.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can do that. But if you want to rent the reservation here on the DISBoards, you will need to purchase the Gold Rental Plan and wait until 30 days prior to check-in date to offer the rental OR purchase the Premium Level Plan as described in the Required Reading sticky thread on the DIS Rent/Trade Board.

I thought about renting a reservation that I had but after reading various posts, I decided to cancel the reservation and rent out my points. I paid for the gold membership and it has already paid off for me.

Is this new that if I want to rent my points, I now have to pay for a membership?

I have always rented my points on dis.

Thanks.

If you meet all the posting requirements for being a member of the online community then no,

If you do not, then yes. You can find all the rules on the Rent/Trade board

Sounds like a good plan. I would suspect a rush on summer reservations once the parks open so now is a good time to place that reservation. I was in a situation where the points that I used for a June reservation were from a 2019 September use year. Once the reservation was cancelled, I was beyond the banking window. Disney was good enough to allow m me to bank those points. Keep at them...I think there is some flexibility especially during these unusual times.
