Hi. just wandering if any of you Canadians every went down and stayed in a rental home. We have always stayed with inlaws at Vistana but they don't have enough weeks next year :sad1: .What kind of price would a three bedroom be?

We have stayed twice in a rental home and just loved it! In 2005 we stayed at Highland Reserve, it's a little out of the way but the price was right, I think we paid $99 a night.

In 2006 we stayed at Glenbrook Resort I think we paid $109 but added pool heat, the bill was still pretty reasonable for the week less than $1000 US.

Highland Reserve was a 4 bed pool home, Glenbrook Resort was a 3 bed pool home. If you are interested in Glenbrook ensure you get a home with a pool as last year when we were there, the clubhouse and community pool were closed and looked like they had been for some time.

For us it is great to have a week to relax, shop, come back for a swim, site see a little and just laze around. We were able to cook if we wanted to, I cooked breakfast once!! The kids were getting sick of restaurant food and asked for KD one day, it was great to know we could prepare it for them.
Having said that, both years we stayed on site for our days at Disney as it is much easier and we enjoy the parks more knowing that we don't need to drive anywhere's when we're done for the day.

We've rented in a number of different areas but like Windsor Hills the best. They have 2 and 3 bedroom condos, 3 bedroom townhouses with private splash pool and 4 - 6 bedroom pool homes. The price depends on the time of year but would range anywhere from $69/nt - 109 for condo, 99 - 140 for townhouse and higher for pool homes in WH. Windsor Hills is just 5 min from Disney AK. But there's lots of places to choose from. We paid $110 /nt for a 3 bedroom townhouse and it included tax and splash pool heat. That was in Sept.
Here are some sites for rentals. We rent directly from owners so we know where and what we're getting. www.vrbo.com or www.homeaway.com ( Kissimmee area or Clermont/ Davenport area ) The further away from Disney usually the less expensive. Here's a couple of maps:

Good luck. :)

we just got back from our 1st WDW Vacation and rented a house with inlaws who also went, anyways we paid $728 USD from Sat to Sat it was a HOUSE, 4 bedroom, private pool (with BBQ) and it was amazing place. It took us about 1/2 to WDW roughly depending on traffic but I am definatly going to rent again when we go back down there. The lady is pleasent to deal with, answers her e-mails promp (as we were looking for certain places but waited ages to even hear back from someone)

http://www.vacationrentals.com/vacation-rentals/28281.html here is the web page with ALL the info on there I told her if people ask I am TOTALLY refering her place as I had no hassle and 100% happy with it, the rooms were amazing as well. IF you have any questions on this place let me know

Robyn
