Renting a Golf Cart

Do they reserve them ahead of time?
I know the cost is around 60 dollars is this for 24 hours?
Is there a place to park it near the marina?

You do need to reserve ahead of time, depending on the time of year that you are going, way ahead of time. The 4 seater is 59.00 plus tax. When you reserve they will ask for a CC to hold the reservation, card will not be charged at that time. Your card will be charged the full price the day before you pick up your cart. It is not for 24 hrs. I was told we could pick up our cart after 1 pm and return by 11 am. If they have one available we could get it earlier. There is parking at the marina, meadows trading post and up at the outpost.

Depending on how many days you are looking to rent there are also some places you can rent from off site that are cheaper. However you need to go off site to pick them up and bring them back. They will supply the pickup and trailer for you. If you don't have your own vehicle to meet them they can arrange a cab for you for extra $$.

We rented one off site from in Nov for a week and saved over $200 then what Disney wanted, we had a ride to and from the pickup location. If we had not and had to pay for their cab it still would have saved us about $125. It took less then an hour round trip to both pick it up and drop it off. There are a number of threads in this forum that mention places to rent from. We used Kenny's Tee Time and I would recommend them.

1) at the FW front desk
2) yes, one year in advance
3) no, and the pickup/dropoff is now 3 pm to 11 am

...and after this past trip, I will never suggest renting offsite ever again. Disney is worth the extra $.

Disney costs literally twice what the offsite rates are. It's up to you as, yes, renting from Disney is more convenient as they are right there, but there is no way I will pay $65 a day for a cart rental. The only way to justify this is if you have someone in your party who's mobility is limited or if you plan on spending the whole day at the Fort and looping around.

We dealt with Kenny at Tee Times twice in the past and had great experience, but you do have to go offsite to pick it up.

Thankfully my youngest is now old enough to use her bike, so from this point on we are hopefully officially off the golfcart list as I would prefer to spend that money at the Lego Store.

I agree with Tiggerdad. $65 is way too much. Is the golf cart convenient? Sure, but the value for us isn't worth that money. I might be more inclined to buy the electric scooters (from another thread) and use them over and over (and at other locations too). In the long run it would be much cheaper.

I have finally convinced DW to rent a cart for our up coming trip, now I am starting to save for a new one 'cause I know she will want one after.

Another option if you can tow a GC with you is to rent one around home. We did this once it was $200.00 for the month.

You are absolutely right. We had one but I sold it to my parents this past summer as mom had hip surgery and it's just getting hard for them to get around. On my property it really wasn't practical since a lot of my land is pasture and hardwoods. We are currently looking for one that is raised up off the ground a little and made for more off road type situations so I can use it on the farm and the girls can use it to get around.
